Path of Exile Item Upgrades
The performance of many Path of Exile items can be improved by upgrading the performance of them. They can be a fantastic source of damage or more AD or even more affixes.
Rare-grade equipment is often superior to modernized Common or Magic equipment because of their high requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both armor and weapon items. They boost the performance of the item that they are attached to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at bonfires. They can also be salvaged by using a professional or higher salvage kits to salvage upgrade components from other items.
The amount of damage an armored piece or weapon can absorb depends on the extent of its upgrades. Upgrading a piece of armor to the highest upgrade level will increase the damage it absorbs. However, it's important keep in mind that this will raise its weight, requiring it to weigh more than before.
There are many different kinds of armor upgrades available in the game. Each has a different effect. Certain upgrades grant armor a greater number of health points, while others make it lighter and more powerful. upgrade item of armor upgrade that an item can receive will be identified by the name of the upgrade as indicated in the table below.
Some of the upgrades also require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, which is shown by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Certain upgrades also require fees for use. These are identified as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges associated with these upgrades are updated every day or never expire, depending on the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest method to improve your armor. It can be found by exploring and looting small chests. Titanium is more expensive however, it is available from the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high level armor pieces. These upgrades can give significant improvements in stats and are a worthwhile investment, especially for 1-handed weapons.
upgrade item of armor upgraded to the highest upgrade level will dramatically boost its defense, but the player should be aware that putting on weight will dramatically reduce its agility and speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor past +9. The added defense generally isn't worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of specific aspects of a weapon. For example, an upgrade may improve the damage that is caused by a shotgun's shells or the accuracy of the rifle sniper. Certain firearms have enhancements to enhance their intrinsic characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, reduces the risk of the possibility of overheating) and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's speed to cause more damage) are two examples.
The majority of weapon upgrades require a whetblade, one of three Power Dices and a different amount Minerals and Erons. These can be obtained by completing Side Quests, taking out a certain number of monsters or bosses, or by contacting the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.
Upgrades to a weapon, equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade price of a certain number of Bars. The more bars you need to complete an upgrade the higher the level. The cost of the upgrades will be lower if you have more than one of the upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and equipment sets has changed. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a certain number of Bars. You could do this until your weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level at which point the upgrades would be reset.
You can still do this, however, the process is high on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're better off going to stores and buying gear with low upgrade levels, but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These will have a chance at gaining you the most prestigious perks and blessings.
To increase their level faster, many players prioritise upgrading their weapons. In addition players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons favored by their teammates to increase their power and effective. Shepard for instance, should upgrade the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more effective when used in conjunction with biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to increase a stat or provide secondary effects on weapons and armor. They can be made through the process of jewelry crafting, where you combine a gem and a number of specific ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the grade of the jewel has, the more powerful its secondary effect. These reagents are available from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses all over the world, or through finding Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.
The quality of a diamond can be improved upon by the Jeweler in stages that vary from Crude to Royal. The stat boosts will vary depending on the tier the jewel is at when it's slotted into jewelry, weapons or other gear.
The Jeweler can craft the highest levels of gems except for the rare and legendary ones that require a certain level to get. Unlike other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped with a identical jewel without damaging the original one. However it is only possible to replace one jewel in a piece of equipment only once.
It is normal to use more gems to enhance the appearance of. The jewels can also enhance performance and make an outer layer that is more durable than steel so that repeated friction caused by pivots does not cause damage to them.

A Glyphmaster can offer glyphs to improve the appearance of your shields and weapons. These are a small perk and can be swapped freely, but are not guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs, like jewelry, can be upgraded at the Jeweler to exchange Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs may also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits or aegis cannot be swapped, and can only be recovered with an Upgrade extractor, or salvaging with Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage.
Trinkets
Trinkets are items of equipment that offer a wide range of small, but beneficial benefits to your hero. You can find them in the starter area as loot or as personal story rewards. They can also be obtained from vendors and by the completion of road interactions. They can be purchased from the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinkets that a player is able to unlock is the cloak. It grants a small but useful bonus to speed of movement and the ability to escape. The player can then acquire necklaces, amulets, and rings in a similar fashion as they did with weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has a slot for an upgrade that is either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades offer smaller bonuses and can be put into any type of equipment, however, jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded, and only works with certain types of trinkets.
These trinkets also provide additional buffs and skills that remain active even when the character is not in combat. This allows a hero to be more efficient when they are not active. It also helps compensate for the lack of a good slots in the team or talent tree which are usually filled by a hero's top stats.
As a general rule, trinket upgrades should prioritize BiS (Best in Slot) items that you will not replace in the near future. Then, you should consider any items with desirable stats that aren't as important as the iLevel for the item that is to be upgraded. This is especially true when you're looking to upgrade several statistics on an item. It's better to upgrade one important stat rather than two suboptimal ones.
At the beginning of the game, players in the jungle are likely to upgrade their yellow trinket to a red, while top and middle players usually choose either a pink or green ward (depending on the matchup). These choices will have a major impact on the hero's abilities to control maps.
In addition to the items listed above, players will find other trinkets in the form of rewards and trophies throughout the game. These can be earned by completing certain milestones in the story. For example, completing the main quest for a chapter or defeating an opponent. You can see them by selecting the achievement from the reward section of the hero's menu.
